We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Event Producer to join our team. The Event Producer will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing a wide range of events for newsrooms across the state, from virtual to in-person. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative vision, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and clients to deliver exceptional event experiences. Above the Noise is a two-year project housed at Rocky Mountain Public Media. This project is focused on capacity building for 40 independent newsrooms across the state. The goal of the project is to work alongside local newsrooms to connect with their communities in a deeper and more meaningful way. This role is responsible for supporting in-person, virtual events as well as supporting call-in radio shows and film screenings. This is a grant-funded position for a period of two years with a possibility of extension provided funding is available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Executes event concepts and themes in collaboration with newsrooms or internal stakeholders. Plan and oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and timelines. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure all event requirements are met efficiently and within budget. Manage event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular financial reports to the team. Lead event production teams, including staff and volunteers, to ensure seamless execution on event days. Source and negotiate contracts with venues, caterers, entertainers, and other event-related services. Implement effective marketing and promotional strategies with newsrooms to maximize event attendance and engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with newsrooms, key stakeholders, sponsors, and community partners. Conduct post-event evaluations and analyze feedback to continuously improve future events. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance event experiences and offerings. Communicates with all Above the Noise team members on timelines and engagement purposes to ensure coordination of RMPM engagement efforts/goals on a timely basis to maximize planning and implementation efforts. Facilitates requests for engagement and event with newsrooms. Communicates engagement team needs to other departments and vice versa Actively participates in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program. Uses key standards and teachings of DEI training in day-to-day work. Other tasks as assigned and/or required. Minimum Qualifications of Position 1 to 2 years' experience in coordinator or similar position. Thrives in a remote working environment and has the skillset and ability to work collaboratively and independently. Friendly and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively to others from all backgrounds and lived experiences. Good work ethic and the ability to see a job to its completion. ADDITIONAL Qualifications of Position Must possess a valid driver's license; must be insurable for driving station vehicles. Fluent in Spanish a plus. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
